They use a standard suitcase (a Carlton and two models of Samsonite have been used) and drill three small holes in it so it can be attached to a take-apart trailer frame. The bike does require some assembly, so about 15 minutes is needed to put it together and a couple more to assemble and attach the trailer. I've flown with a folder inside of the Airporter Mini suitcase, which meets the dimensional requirements of most airlines, and never been charged. One agent inquired what my luggage contained, and I answered "bike PARTS and clothes."
